Sell your Rolex Daytona.

Free, no-obligation valuation · Paid within 24 hours · Hatton Garden, London

Sell Rolex Daytona watches to an independent Hatton Garden dealer. Free valuation, no commission, paid by secure bank transfer once we agree a price.

If you want to sell Rolex Daytona watches, or simply want to know what yours is worth, you are in the right place. The Daytona is the strongest Rolex in the pre-owned market and we are consistently short of them. If you are holding a 116500LN, a 126500LN, a 116520 or a precious-metal reference, we will pay properly for it.

We buy outright for our own stock. No commission is deducted, and you are paid the day we agree.

How to sell Rolex Daytona watches to Kings & Queens

  1. Tell us about the watch. Reference number, year, and whether you have the box and papers. Photographs help but are not essential to get started, and if you send them over WhatsApp we can give you a quick initial figure.
  2. We make an offer. Based on what that Daytona is actually achieving in the current market, not a formula.
  3. Bring it in or send it insured. You are welcome at our Hatton Garden showroom by appointment, or you can send it to us free and fully insured.
  4. Paid within 24 hours. Once the watch is checked and authenticated in person and you are happy with the offer, you are paid that day by secure bank transfer.

What affects what your Daytona is worth

Six things decide the figure when you sell Rolex Daytona watches, and most of them can be seen in a few good photographs.

Reference and generation. The ceramic-bezel 116500LN and its 126500LN successor sit well above the steel-bezel 116520, and precious-metal references are valued separately again.

Dial colour. On the ceramic references, white and black dials trade at different levels and the gap moves with the market. We price on the day rather than from a fixed list.

Completeness. Box, papers and an unpolished case matter more on a Daytona than on any other Rolex. A full set with the original card can make a striking difference.

Originality. Replacement bezels, aftermarket dials and non-original bracelets all reduce value considerably. If a watch has been modified, tell us – we will still make an offer, and an honest starting point gets you a better one.

Bracelet stretch. Years of daily wear open up the pins and links of an Oyster bracelet until it sags on the wrist. A tight bracelet tells us the watch has been looked after; a loose one may need new parts, and we allow for that openly when we price it.

Service history. A recent Rolex service with paperwork counts in your favour, provided the original parts were kept or returned. A Daytona that is overdue is still very easy for us to buy; we simply account for the work it needs. Our sister business Alpha Group, in the same building, handles servicing and repairs, so we can judge that cost accurately.

Which Daytona do you have?

Before you sell Rolex Daytona models, it helps to know exactly which reference you own, because the name covers six decades of quite different watches. The reference is printed on the warranty card or certificate, and on modern pieces it is also engraved on the case between the lugs at 12 o'clock. Please do not remove the bracelet to find it; the card or a clear photograph is enough for us.

ReferenceYearsWhat sets it apart

Rolex shows its current Cosmograph Daytona line-up on rolex.com, which is handy for comparing a newer model with yours. If your watch pre-dates the ceramic era, send us clear photographs of the dial and caseback and we will identify it for you. If you plan to sell Rolex Daytona watches from the manual-wind years, expect us to look closely at every detail, from the dial printing to the pushers.

Condition: polishing, pushers and the bezel

The Daytona case has sharp, defined lug edges with brushed surfaces on top. Heavy polishing rounds those edges off and thins the lugs, and no later work can put the metal back. If you are tempted to have scratches removed before you sell Rolex Daytona pieces, please don't. Honest wear costs you far less than a case that has lost its shape.

The screw-down pushers and crown should tighten smoothly. Water resistance depends on them, so if one feels gritty or will not seat properly, mention it. The Cerachrom insert on ceramic models shrugs off scratches but can chip if the watch takes a hard knock, so look closely at the edge of the bezel in good light. On the 116520 and older steel-bezel watches, look instead for dents and worn tachymeter numerals.

The crystal, dial and hands come last. A chipped crystal is a simple replacement. Marks on the dial, discoloured lume, or hands swapped for service parts matter more, and they are worth flagging when you first get in touch. Nobody expects a worn watch to look new; we just need an accurate picture.

Box, papers and original parts

A Daytona with its full set is the version most buyers want, so anything that came with the watch is worth finding. The original purchase receipt and service invoices help as well, because they support the watch's history and make our checks quicker. When people sell Rolex Daytona watches with every item present, the conversation about price is usually short and simple.

  • Warranty card or certificate showing the serial number and date of purchase
  • Inner and outer Rolex boxes, booklets and any swing tags
  • Every spare link removed when the bracelet was sized
  • Rolex service papers and any original parts returned after a service
  • The original receipt, if you still have it

If something is missing, we will still buy the watch. A watch-only Daytona remains very saleable, and we will tell you plainly how each missing item affects our offer rather than guess at it. For more on why paperwork matters, read our guide to box and papers.

Before you sell Rolex Daytona watches: how to prepare

Getting ready takes very little time, and a few small steps let us give you a firmer figure from the start.

  • Leave the case and bracelet exactly as they are; do not polish or refinish anything.
  • Wipe the watch with a soft, dry cloth rather than any cleaning product.
  • Photograph the dial, bezel, clasp, caseback and card in daylight.
  • Gather the box, papers, spare links and service records in one place.
  • Note when the watch was last serviced and anything that was replaced.
  • Have the reference and year of purchase to hand when you call or message us.

Our private showroom in Hatton Garden, where sellers meet us by appointment.

During the appointment we examine the watch with you, check the serial number, case markings and movement, and talk you through what we find. Hatton Garden has been London's jewellery quarter for well over a century, and coming here to sell Rolex Daytona watches means a face-to-face conversation with a specialist rather than a form and a waiting game. Sell Rolex Daytona watches from outside London

If you can't get to Hatton Garden, you can send the watch to us fully insured. Speak to us first and we will explain how to pack and post it so that it arrives safely. Once it is here and has been authenticated, we confirm the offer with you, and payment follows by secure bank transfer. If you want to sell Rolex Daytona pieces from elsewhere in the UK, start with a few photos on WhatsApp so that the figure is clear before anything is posted.

Sell Rolex Daytona watches privately or to a dealer?

Some owners think about listing the watch themselves. A private sale can work, but it means fielding messages from strangers, arranging viewings with people you do not know, and carrying the risk of payment fraud or a buyer who disappears at the last minute. With a high-value Daytona, those risks are real.

When you sell Rolex Daytona watches to us, the process is one appointment or one insured delivery, an in-person authentication and a bank transfer. You may find a private buyer willing to pay more, or you may not, and you will spend weeks finding out. We would simply ask you to compare like with like: the figure, the time and the risk.

Part exchange your Daytona

Some owners who come to sell Rolex Daytona watches would rather change watches than cash out. With a part exchange, the value of your Daytona is offset against the watch you are buying from us in a single transaction. If your Daytona is worth more than the watch you choose, we pay you the difference. Browse our pre-owned Rolex Daytona stock, or read how part exchange works.

Why sell Rolex Daytona watches to us

Because we buy for our own stock and do not act as a broker, the price we agree is the amount you receive, with no commission or hidden fees taken off afterwards. There is no listing period and no waiting for a buyer to appear. As an independent specialist in Hatton Garden, we price a Daytona on its reference, condition and completeness, rather than discounting for the unknown.

Not ready to sell Rolex Daytona watches just yet? The valuation is free and comes with no obligation. Send photos over WhatsApp on +44 (0)7888 888835 or call 0330 043 7777, and we will give you an honest starting figure for your Daytona.

Common questions

Why might my Daytona be worth more than I paid at retail?

For many references, demand at retail has outstripped supply for years and waiting lists run long. The pre-owned market prices the watch at what it is actually worth today.

Do you buy older Daytonas?

Yes. Earlier references including manual-wind examples are of real interest to us, and in some cases are worth considerably more than people expect. Do not assume an older watch is worth less.

How do I know your offer is fair?

Ask us to explain it, and you are free to take the offer away and think about it. We would rather lose a watch than talk someone into a price they are not comfortable with.

Can I sell Rolex Daytona watches without the box and papers?

Yes. A full set achieves more, but a watch on its own is still very saleable. We authenticate it in person, explain how the missing items affect the figure, and make you a firm offer.

Will you buy a Daytona that has been polished or had parts replaced?

Yes. Tell us what you know about its history and we will look at the case, dial, hands and bezel together. Service replacements and polishing change the value, but they do not stop us buying the watch.

Can I sell Rolex Daytona watches I have inherited?

Yes. Bring the watch with whatever came with it, even if that is only a receipt or an old service invoice. We authenticate and value an inherited Daytona in exactly the same way, and we are happy to explain each step to the family before any decision is made.

How am I paid when I sell Rolex Daytona watches to you?

By secure bank transfer, once we have agreed a price and authenticated the watch in person. There are no hidden fees or commission, so the agreed price is exactly what you receive.
