About Kings & Queens Watches: An Independent Dealer in Hatton Garden

Kings & Queens Watches is an independent luxury watch dealer at 9 St. Cross Street, in the heart of Hatton Garden, London. We buy, sell, part exchange and source watches from Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Cartier and Hublot. We are not an authorised dealer for any brand, we are not part of Rolex Certified Pre-Owned, and we are not affiliated with any watchmaker. We would rather be clear about that from the start.

This part of the page goes into more detail about how we actually work: how each watch is checked before it is listed, what happens when you buy or sell, how sourcing works, and where our sister workshop, Alpha Group, fits in. If you would rather talk it through, call 0330 043 7777 or message us on WhatsApp and ask us about anything that isn't covered here.

What Being Independent Means in Practice

An authorised dealer sells new watches supplied by the brand. An independent dealer like us works on the secondary market: we buy pre-owned watches directly for our own stock and sell them on with our own checks and our own warranty. That means we can talk openly about different brands and references side by side, without being tied to one maker's catalogue.

It also means you should know what each route offers. If you want a new watch with the full brand retail experience, the maker's own website, for example Patek Philippe, lists its official retailers. If you want a specific pre-owned reference, a discontinued model or simply a wider choice in one room, that is where we come in. Where a watch we sell is still within its manufacturer's warranty, the manufacturer's terms apply.

How We Authenticate Every Watch

Before any watch is offered for sale, it is inspected and authenticated by experienced watch specialists. The inspection is about more than whether the watch is genuine: it also covers condition and performance, so that the description we publish is accurate. As part of that work, four sets of details are recorded for every piece:

  • Serial number. The unique number given to the watch by its maker, which should be consistent with the reference and the era it claims to come from.
  • Bracelet number. Codes on the bracelet and clasp help show whether the bracelet is correct for the watch, or a later replacement.
  • Movement identifiers. The calibre and its markings should match what that reference was built with.
  • Case markings. Reference numbers, maker's marks and, on precious-metal cases, hallmarks are checked against what the model should carry.

Recording these details gives each watch a documented identity that stays on file. It also gives you something concrete to ask about: if you want to know what was checked on a particular piece, we can talk you through it before you buy.

What to Know About Buying from Us

Unless a listing says otherwise, every watch on our site is physically held in stock and available for inspection before dispatch. Every listing states whether the watch comes with its box and papers, so there is no guesswork about what is included. Browse the current collection, or book a time to see a watch in person.

If you need a few days to decide, a £100 deposit reserves a watch for 3 working days. The deposit is non-refundable, but on request it can be used as store credit towards another watch. Once payment has cleared, your order is prepared within 2 to 3 working days, with final quality checks, verification and secure packaging, then sent free, fully insured and signed for within the UK. International shipping is available on most orders.

For fraud prevention we may ask for identity or payment verification before dispatch, and we only ship to verified addresses. After delivery, you have 14 days to return the watch for a full refund to your original payment method, and pre-owned watches carry a 12-month mechanical warranty from delivery unless the listing says otherwise. The full terms are on our warranty page.

Selling and Part Exchanging Your Watch

We buy watches directly for our own stock. We do not act as a broker and we do not take watches on consignment, so you are not left waiting while someone else looks for a buyer. Valuations are free and carry no obligation, and for a quick initial figure you can send photos over WhatsApp before deciding whether to come in.

Bring the watch with its box, papers and any spare links, because a complete set is valued higher. If you cannot visit, you can send it to us fully insured. Once we have agreed a price and authenticated the watch in person, payment is made by secure bank transfer. We charge no commission and add no hidden fees, so you receive exactly the price we agreed. More about the process is on our selling page.

Part exchange works in one transaction. We value your current watch and offset it against the one you are buying from us. If yours is worth more than the watch you are choosing, we pay you the difference.

Sourcing a Specific Watch

Not every request can be met from what is on the website that week, so we also source specific watches for clients on request. The more you can tell us about what you want, the better: the reference or model, dial colour, metal, preferred years, whether box and papers are essential, and how you plan to wear it. We will let you know what we find and talk you through the details of each option.

Sourcing suits people who know exactly what they are after, and people who are still deciding between two or three models. In the second case, a showroom appointment is often the best first step, because trying different case sizes and bracelets on the wrist tells you more than any photograph.

Alpha Group, Our Sister Workshop

Alpha Group is our sister business and works from the same building in Hatton Garden. It handles watch servicing, repairs and restoration. Having watchmakers so close by means that if you are thinking about a service, a repair or work on an older piece, you can raise it during the same visit rather than arranging a separate trip.

Alpha Group runs as its own business alongside ours. You will find more about what it offers on our service and repairs page, and general advice about looking after a mechanical watch on the watchmaking and maintenance page.

Questions About Kings & Queens Watches

Do you sell watches on consignment?

No. We buy directly for our own stock, so the watches we sell belong to us and, unless a listing says otherwise, are physically held in stock and available for inspection before dispatch.

Which brands do you deal in?

We focus on Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Cartier and Hublot. Keeping to six houses lets us know their references well and answer detailed questions about them.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

Yes. All viewings are by appointment, which keeps each visit private. Appointments can be for viewing and buying, selling or part exchanging, sourcing, or a general consultation about a watch.

Is Alpha Group part of Kings & Queens?

Alpha Group is our sister business and is based in the same building. It looks after servicing, repairs and restoration, while Kings & Queens buys, sells, part exchanges and sources watches.

Can I talk to you about a watch I bought somewhere else?

Yes. If you are thinking about selling it or using it in a part exchange, we offer a free, no-obligation valuation. If it needs attention, Alpha Group can advise about servicing or repair.

Where can I read what customers say about you?

Customers rate us five stars on Google. You can read more on our reviews page, or ask us about anything you would like to check before you buy or sell.

If you have a question about a particular watch, a valuation or an appointment, call 0330 043 7777 or send us a WhatsApp message. We are always happy to talk about watches, whether or not you are ready to buy.
